Hey look, a BONUS strip this week! Thanks to Heidi and I rewatching all the existing Jurassic movies in anticipation of the NEW one, life found a way!
Honestly, this is a pet peeve of mine. Not people having missed the land bridge in the film. After all, Heidi’s not WRONG here. It’s blurry and dark in that scene. What bugs me is that I’ve known folks who KNOW better and have noticed the visible land bridge too, and STILL parrot the joke for the easy laugh it gets. I don’t know if it bugs me more as a NERD or as a comedy writer. lol

My dad used to watch tv to find tire tracks and jet trails in the old 60s westerns. Most folks don't pay a lot of attention to those kinds od details, but I find myself recognizing sets, analyzing costume styles, and looking for jet trails. My daughter and I used to count homages to other movies and such. It's more fun than just zombie staring.
Oh, you’d HATE hanging around me: paleontology major here, and when the second movie came out, coworkers paid for me to see it on Memorial Day weekend. My review was succinct: I left the theater and immediately got in line for the 25th anniversary release of “Pink Flamingos” in the hope that watching Divine eat dog shit on camera would get the taste out of my mouth. (I’m also the bastard who suggested that the first movie would be immeasurably improved by dubbing over the tyrannosaur’s roars with Dennis Hopper’s dialogue from “Blue Velvet,” and don’t even get me started on the Dilophosaurus…)
