IdentiDee Crisis.
This is an idea that came about rather organically: I WAS stressing out about this concept, and it was giving me creative block. Hence... make a strip ABOUT the thing that’s giving me blockage. Huzzah!
This one, I need to add a LOT of special thanks to for inspiration. There’s Chic and Dean Young’s BLONDIE. Gary Trudeau’s DOONESBURY, General 1920s and 1930 cartoons, but also a wink nod to Chuck Jones and Looney Tunes. And finally, the work of Robert Crumb and Harvey Pekar. This was a LOT of fun to draw, and looks a LOT different in color over on PATREON! (Or HERE for paid backers.)

Gawd, your ability to ape other cartoonists styles is amazing! Especially like your “BlonDee” and TruDeeau!
But yeah, if you could OCCASIONALLY mention more trans issues (yknow, without Dee-pressing the hell out of us or yourself), I for one would find it interesting. Though maybe the whole point of this strip is to show trans people as “normal”?
Aside from noting how perfect Poe appears in Blondie (and how perfectly Heidi fits into the classic Chuck Jones style), feel free to go full Doonesbury, and not just because a lot of us welcome the education. After all, Doonesbury went full weird, too: has everyone else forgotten Uncle Duke becoming a zombie? (The December 9, 1986 strip, with Mike and Zonker talking about Iran/Contra, is particularly bittersweet to me: my best friend and I were walking Mike and Zonker impersonators at the time, and we had that same exact conversation, with The Other Paul accusing me of being stoned when I heard the news, about six hours before that comic came out.)
