Happy 94th, DICK TRACY!
WOW! 94 years ago, DICK TRACY by Chester Gould premiered, beginning an amazing legacy that, for a time, I was fortunate to be a part of.
Inking Shelley Pleger on and off on the strip for 6ish months, then getting a chance to work with writer Eric Costello for 2 weeks as the guest artist on the amazing comic strip!
It was the first time my work appeared in newspapers, and it allowed me to touch the legacy of a classic strip I grew up loving. I am still so proud that I got to play in such an amazing sandbox.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DICK TRACY!!!

I remember when Dick Tracy was in the weekend comics. No more. I remember weekend comics. Alas, also no more. Newspapers? Getting rare. BTW, if I’d been in that comic, I’d have been poisoned because that’s the normal way to hold a teapot for me. The fist grip doesn’t give enough control.
I always loved the comic strip, and I was a huge fan of the movie when it came out. I still have some of the action figures. Hehe. Great post.
